Grace House Akron is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2017 to address the gaps in the healthcare system for underprivileged and under-insured individuals, as well as those with terminal illnesses who are in need of care. Founded by former in-home hospice RN Holly Klein and Co-Founders Cindy and Nicholas Browning, Grace House Akron is dedicated to providing a loving and accepting environment for individuals facing end-of-life circumstances. Their mission is to offer a home and compassionate care for indigent, homeless, and abandoned individuals at the end of life, ensuring they have access to safe shelter, dignified care, and a nurturing environment.

Grace House Akron provides 24/7 caregiving and access to basic needs such as food, water, and shelter from a team of specially trained staff and volunteers. In addition to essential care services, Grace House Akron offers a range of programs and services to enhance the quality of life for their residents, including pet therapy, music and art therapy, therapeutic massage, spiritual care, and vigil companions. They also prioritize self-care for both families and staff.

Furthermore, Grace House Akron collaborates with educational, healthcare, and hospice experts and agencies to provide hands-on learning opportunities in the field of hospice and palliative care for students. This Experiential Learning Program aims to equip future healthcare professionals with the skills and understanding needed to meet the needs of underserved, terminally ill individuals while upholding the values of listening, respect, and human dignity.
