Located in Sherman, Texas, it serves as the only shelter within an extensive area of over 3000 square miles. With the designation of an emergency shelter by the Health and Human Services Commission, the Crisis Center offers a safe haven and support for those in need.

Since its inception in 1976 as the Rape Crisis Line, the organization has expanded its services to include emotional support, crisis intervention counseling, and victim assistance programs. In 1986, the Crisis Center acquired a purpose-built facility to accommodate survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, offering a 9,000 square foot space with various amenities. Furthermore, they prioritize community engagement, providing educational programs, community conversations, and support groups.
