About

Description

Great Peninsula Conservancy is a nonprofit land trust dedicated to protecting the natural habitats, rural landscapes, and open spaces of the Great Peninsula region of West Puget Sound, Washington. With a mission to conserve vibrant forests, streams, shorelines, and community greenspaces, the organization is committed to ensuring that wildlife and people thrive. Through the creation of nature preserves, partnerships with public agencies to establish local parks, and the placement of permanent restrictions on private land, Great Peninsula Conservancy has preserved over 11,000 acres of evergreen forests, salmon streams, marine shorelines, and community parks.

The organization works closely with community groups, local governments, tribes, and landowners to accomplish their conservation goals. By receiving generous contributions from individuals, foundations, and public agencies, as well as the dedication of landowners, Great Peninsula Conservancy has become a trusted conservation leader in the region. Their work is guided by a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, striving to create an inclusive environment where all perspectives are valued.
