S. Department of Education, Green Dot has been heralded as a national leader in school turnarounds. Established in 1999, Green Dot was born out of a need to address the alarming state of public high schools in Los Angeles.

With a vision to create small, successful public schools, Green Dot aimed to demonstrate a more effective way of providing education in low-income and historically underserved areas. Opening its doors with just one 9th-grade class in 2000, Green Dot has grown into an organization that now serves over 14,000 students across Los Angeles, California, Texas, and Memphis, Tennessee. Green Dot's success is evident through its founding five schools, all of which have been recognized nationally as some of the best high schools in the country.

The organization's expertise in school turnarounds is exemplified by its management of Locke High School, a massive transformation endeavor that has shown impressive results.
