Growing Chefs is a non-profit organization that aims to cultivate healthy, sustainable, and just food practices by connecting chefs, kids, and communities. They offer various programs and services that empower children to establish a strong connection with food. Through hands-on experience, kids engage in the entire food cycle, from digging in the soil and planting seeds to harvesting vegetables and learning basic cooking skills.

This immersive approach allows children to develop a newfound appreciation for food and often leads to them eagerly devouring vegetables they once refused to eat. Since its establishment in 2005, Growing Chefs has supported 529 classes, reaching over 13,700 children across 13 communities with the help of 1,820 dedicated volunteers. They actively promote urban agriculture development, facilitate engagement between chefs and growers to support food sustainability, and champion the idea of kids growing and cooking their own food.
