Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston is a non-profit organization that has been building homes and providing housing solutions since 1987. With a focus on the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury, Roslindale, South Boston, and surrounding communities, they have constructed over 120 homes, benefitting more than 600 individuals with low-to-moderate incomes. Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston operates as an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.

Their mission is to improve the lives of hardworking families by granting them access to affordable homeownership. They bring together dedicated volunteers and families with low-to-moderate incomes to build affordable and environmentally sustainable homes, thereby strengthening local communities. Partner families are selected based on their income, level of need, and willingness to invest 250 to 300 hours of sweat equity.

These families must have household incomes within 40%-80% of the area median income in Greater Boston for their family size. Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston not only provides low-cost homes but also supports partner families through no-interest mortgage loans and ensures that they pay 30% or less of their gross annual income on housing costs. Their ultimate vision is to improve the well-being of families with low-to-moderate incomes and disrupt generational cycles of poverty through successful homeownership
