Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County (HFHGCC) is a nonprofit organization that aims to help families in need achieve the dream of homeownership. As one of the 1,000 independent affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), HFHGCC has been serving the greater Centre County region for 40 years. They have built, renovated, or repaired nearly 80 homes in partnership with qualified homeowners.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Centre County believes in providing simple, decent, and affordable housing for all. Regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, or any other difference, they welcome everyone to join in building quality houses. Through a no-profit, no-interest loan program, homebuyers complete 350 sweat-equity hours and fulfill other requirements to purchase their homes.

They also take responsibility for all upkeep and maintain current payments on their properties. HFHGCC's ability to make housing affordable to income-qualified families is made possible by the generous support of individuals, corporations, faith-based organizations, and countless volunteers. The organization operates the ReStore, where donations are accepted and retail sales are held to further support their mission.
