HCCAO (Highland County Community Action Organization) is a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to helping people and changing lives. Established in 1965, HCCAO has been serving the residents of Highland County for over 56 years. As one of over 1,000 Community Action Agencies across the country, HCCAO strives to improve our communities and make Highland County a better place to live.

With a 15-member volunteer board representing the private, public, and low-income sectors, HCCAO offers a wide range of services and programs to support individuals and families in need. These include workforce services, community resources, adult and young adult programs, as well as health services such as lead testing, pregnancy testing, and car seat restraint safety. HCCAO also provides essential emergency services, including housing assistance, winter crisis programs, and a food pantry.

Additionally, they offer special initiatives like the Senior Nutrition Program and projects focused on recycling and litter cleanup. With two locations in Hillsboro and Greenfield, HCCAO is committed to making a positive impact in Highland County, empowering individuals, and creating a more inclusive and prosperous community
