About

Description

GHCC, or the Greater Hells Canyon Council, is an organization dedicated to connecting, protecting, and restoring the Greater Hells Canyon Region in Northeast Oregon. Their mission is to ensure a legacy of healthy ecosystems for future generations by preserving the wild lands, waters, native species, and habitats of the region. GHCC envisions a region where both human communities and native species thrive.

As a member-based organization, GHCC works tirelessly to advocate for connected wildlife corridors and environmentally responsible public lands management practices throughout the region. Their programs focus on conserving intact and old growth forests, roadless areas, potential wilderness areas, native grasslands, and wild waters. Additionally, they aim to restore public lands that have been damaged by fire suppression, logging, and grazing.

The Greater Hells Canyon Region, with its diverse elevations and habitat types, plays a crucial role in helping species adapt to climate change. GHCC's Wild Connections Campaign specifically focuses on connecting habitats to promote wildlife connectivity. By supporting GHCC, you contribute to the preservation of clean drinking water, clean air, carbon sequestration, wildlife, and quiet solitude and recreation.

GHCC believes in the harmony between people and the wild, and they are committed to ensuring a healthy environment for all
