One of our most fascinating attractions is the World's Oldest Ham, a ham that has been preserved since 1902.

Originally overlooked, the ham was kept in an iron safe and opened daily for visitors to marvel at. It gained fame as the world's oldest Smithfield ham and even made appearances in Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Alongside the World's Oldest Ham, our museum features exhibits on colonial history, the Smithfield ham industry, the Blackwater River, the Civil War, and the Cold War.
