National History Academy is a brand dedicated to inspiring students to understand the foundations of American democracy and the responsibilities of citizenship through experiential learning. Their mission is to address the current crisis in teaching and learning about American history, as highlighted by the National Assessment of Educational Progress. Only 18% of high school seniors showed proficiency in their knowledge of American history, and 23% were proficient in civics.

With a focus on residential and online programs for rising 10th to 12th graders, National History Academy aims to educate, engage, and inspire students to reflect on where our nation has been, understand their rights and responsibilities as American citizens, and cultivate independent thought on the importance of history in their own lives. National History Academy is operated by Journey Through Hallowed Ground, a non-profit National Heritage Area designated by Congress and the National Park Service
