About
Description
The Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) has been dedicated to serving the community, saving animals, and helping people for over 125 years. As the only animal shelter in Washtenaw County, HSHV takes in all types of animals in need, including unwanted, injured, lost, stray, abandoned, and abused animals. Each year, HSHV provides assistance to over 24,000 animals and their owners through a wide range of services.
With a board of directors and generous individual and corporate donors, HSHV is able to continue its life-saving work. Notably, HSHV has the highest save rate among all similar animal shelters in Michigan and is classified as a no-kill shelter. HSHV is also actively involved in advocating for the welfare of animals and children.
Through innovative initiatives like the Tiny Lions lounge and adoption center, HSHV creates engaging spaces that bring people and felines together, resulting in happy adoptions. Partnering with other organizations, HSHV works towards a no-kill nation. With a mission of prevention and protection, HSHV is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of animals and their community
