Hunger Free Vermont is a brand dedicated to addressing and eradicating hunger in Vermont. Currently, 2 in 5 people in Vermont are experiencing hunger due to insufficient funds to cover basic needs. Hunger is not solely caused by financial constraints; it is also influenced by historical systems and policy decisions at the federal, state, and town levels.

These policy decisions, justified by biases and unchecked assumptions, have led to disparities among different groups and a lack of resources for those in need. Hunger Free Vermont aims to tackle the underlying causes of hunger, including white supremacy, race-based inequities, affordable housing and childcare shortages, low-wage jobs, rising costs of necessities, a decrease in accessible grocery stores, and the stigma associated with safety net programs. They provide food assistance and resources through their Child Nutrition Hub, Hunger Councils, and 3SquaresVT Resource Hub.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, hunger has become even more prevalent, with BIPOC individuals, women, families with children, and households experiencing job disruptions being disproportionately affected. Through their work, Hunger Free Vermont strives to alleviate hunger, reduce economic hardship, and ensure that no Vermonter goes hungry
