The Hyperloop Development Program (HDP) is a collaborative initiative between public sector partners, industry parties, and research institutions in Europe. It is dedicated to developing the hyperloop technology as a safe, sustainable, and commercially viable mode of high-speed transportation. Over the next three years, the program aims to achieve several goals.

Firstly, it will prove the feasibility of hyperloop as a safe and low-emission method of transporting both people and goods. Secondly, it will test and demonstrate the technology at the European Hyperloop Center Groningen to ensure its intended design and safe operation. Lastly, the program will identify future prospects and opportunities for industry and stakeholders within the hyperloop ecosystem.

The program consists of four work groups that will focus on different activities, including R&D projects, feasibility studies, and the realization of the European Hyperloop Center. Through comprehensive research and innovation, the HDP aims to address key aspects such as safety, standards, integration, socio-economic costs and benefits, public adoption, ecosystem assessment, and technology advancement.
