IDI GTA is a non-profit organization that aims to promote social cohesion and mutual understanding among people of all cultures and faiths. Their mission is to advance diversity and multiculturalism in Canadian society by eliminating stereotypes and prejudices through direct human communication. They achieve this through various social, educational, and cultural activities, such as lectures, seminars, conferences, intercultural exchange trips, and outreach programs.

Founded in 2010, IDI currently has 11 chapters and a regional office in major cities across five Canadian provinces. The GTA branch was established in 2005 as the Canadian Interfaith Dialogue Centre and later changed its name to the Canadian Intercultural Dialogue Centre. In July 2013, it was re-branded as IDI GTA to represent the whole Greater Toronto Area.

IDI values diversity, respects differences in religions and cultures, and upholds integrity and ethical conduct. They promote universal values such as love, respect, tolerance, mercy, and compassion to foster healthy dialogue. Their inclusive approach welcomes members and volunteers from various traditions, faiths, races, and nations.
