India Literacy Project (ILP) is a volunteer-based organization with chapters across the US and India. With a vision to be ‘A catalyst for 100% literate and educated India’, ILP works at the grassroots to innovate and implement meaningful interventions to improve access to schools, enroll out-of-school children, retain vulnerable children, improve learning, and provide pathways to productive careers. ILP scales its interventions through partnerships with other NGOs, government agencies, CSRs, foundations, and individuals.

ILP is registered as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization in the US, and as a Public Charitable Trust in India. Donations to ILP in both countries are tax-deductible. The organization was founded in 1990 with the mission to promote literacy in India.
