INCHWA, the Indiana Community Health Workers Association, is a professional association dedicated to advocating for the community health workers of Indiana. Our mission is to support the workforce of CHWs in Indiana by advancing the CHW profession through evidence-based strategies, education, and advocacy. We have several goals, including promoting CHWs and their vital role on the healthcare team, educating healthcare professionals and community members about the impact of CHWs, and advocating for fair wages and working conditions for CHWs.

We offer a range of services to all Indiana CHWs, including access to consulting services, resources for self-care and wellness, high-quality trainings that meet national and state standards, and specialty education opportunities. Our organization also works towards legitimizing the CHW workforce through strategic partnerships and measuring the return on investment of employing CHWs. Additionally, we provide a supportive community for CHWs and supporters through membership and monthly events.
