The Methodist Church in Ireland is a community of individuals united by the love of God and a shared commitment to live wholeheartedly as followers of Jesus. With 212 churches across the island of Ireland and a membership of around 53,000, we are part of a global Christian church, with shared values and beliefs. Founded by John Wesley in the 18th century, Methodism emphasizes certain aspects of the Christian faith that remain central to our beliefs today.

We are committed to mission, partnering with God to bring about the transformation of the world. Our primary expressions of mission include local churches, city missions, pioneer ministries, and chaplaincy. As Methodists, we strive to implement our mission commitments, which guide our priorities as we undergo structural and governance changes.

We are dedicated to global missions through partnerships with Irish Methodist World Mission and Methodist World Development and Relief, learning from our global partners and sharing in the work of mission.
