The brand's story began in 1971 when Fred Mick Laurita, a produce manager, took a leap of faith and purchased a Japanese restaurant in Georgetown, despite having no experience in the restaurant business.

The restaurant thrived under the Laurita family's ownership and soon became a family affair. In 1980, they opened Laurita's Mediterranean Market, which became known for its unique and high-quality food items. In 1984, Italco Food Products was born as a wholesale specialty food business, catering to chefs and their restaurants.

Today, Mike and Chris, sons of founder Mick Laurita, continue to uphold their family traditions of exceptional customer service, uncompromising quality, and extensive knowledge. Italco offers a wide range of products, with cheese being the most popular item they sell. They also custom formulate spice blends, ensuring freshness and accuracy in every recipe.
