About

Description

The International Women's Democracy Center (IWDC) is a renowned organization founded in 1995. IWDC is dedicated to empowering women globally by providing them with training, education, networking opportunities, and conducting extensive research. Their primary goal is to strengthen women's leadership in various aspects of democracy, with a specific focus on enhancing their participation in policy-making, politics, and decision-making within their respective governments.

IWDC collaborates with established local organizations across the globe to implement their diverse programs and projects effectively. In recognition of their outstanding contributions, IWDC attained Special Consultative Status from the United Nations in 1998. This status enables IWDC to participate officially in all Special Sessions, expert group meetings, and regional conferences of the UN's Economic and Social Committee (ECOSOC).

Barbara Ferris, the founder and president of IWDC, believes that to achieve a nation's full economic, social, and political potential, equal opportunity for participation in the democratic process must be granted to all citizens. You can reach IWDC at their office located at 1101 17th Street NW, Suite 301, Washington DC 20036. For more information, you can contact them at 202-530-0563 or via email at info@iwdc.
