The International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) is a global organization dedicated to breaking barriers for women and nonbinary journalists. As the only organization of its kind, the IWMF provides comprehensive support for these journalists, regardless of their gender identity. We offer a range of products and services that empower journalists, including awards, reporting opportunities, fellowships, grants, safety training, and emergency aid.

We also highlight and celebrate the extraordinary bravery of women journalists through recognition and awards. In addition, we conduct research to understand the factors contributing to the gender disparity in journalism and advocate for inclusive practices to promote diversity and leadership among historically marginalized communities. Our mission is to unleash the potential of women journalists as champions of press freedom, while our vision is to create a world where diverse voices, stories, and perspectives are valued and essential to democracy and free expression.
