About
Description
JAANY, the Japanese American Association of New York, has been serving the Japanese community since 1907. Their mission is to connect the community through social engagement, education, sports, and the arts. They offer a wide range of programs and services to cater to different needs and interests.
For sports enthusiasts, they have a baseball league and organize events like the annual Sakura Matsuri at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, where cherry blossom trees have been planted. Cultural events like the Tanabata festival, which celebrates the love story of Orihime and Hikoboshi, are held at the East River Promenade inside Carl Schurz Park. JAANY also hosts an annual gala, their largest fundraiser of the year, where they celebrate the organization's successes with supporters at the Harvard Club.
With a strong sense of diversity, JAANY is committed to celebrating and sharing Japanese culture and heritage with people of all ages and backgrounds
