The FDNY Firefighter John F. McNamara Foundation, based in Blue Point, NY, is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling the final wishes of John McNamara, an FDNY Firefighter who passed away in 2009 from 9/11 related cancer. In line with John's motto whatever it takes, the Foundation strives to build a community center in Blue Point, NY.

Additionally, the Foundation supports other 9/11 first responder organizations. Born and raised in Brooklyn, John McNamara joined the ranks of New York's bravest in 1999. He selflessly helped dig through the rubble at the World Trade Center after 9/11, providing closure to grieving families.

He also volunteered in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, fighting fires and aiding those affected. Despite his own battle with cancer, John tirelessly advocated for healthcare for fellow first responders. The foundation, formed by John's wife Jennifer, works to honor his memory and continue his legacy of caring for others.
