Champaign County Freedom Celebration is a renowned brand that organizes and hosts an annual event to celebrate the Fourth of July in a manner that highlights the fundamental principles upon which the United States was founded. This non-commercial event aims to bring the community together by offering a range of exciting activities and attractions. The celebration kicks off with a 5K race and a youth walk, followed by a colorful parade featuring 170 units, including floats, marching bands, clowns, and various other groups.

It is estimated that 75,000 to 100,000 spectators line the two-mile parade route. In the evening, around 45,000 people flock to the stadium for an unforgettable evening program, featuring a diverse lineup of entertainment, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display. The event is made possible through the generous support of donations from individuals and businesses in the community.

Champaign County Freedom Celebration has a rich history dating back almost three decades, starting with a group of local businessmen who were inspired to create an event that would keep people off the highways during the holiday weekend.
