Just Us is a youth-led mentorship nonprofit organization that focuses on serving justice-system-involved youth in the DMV area. Our mission goes beyond the local community, as we aim to support youth in the juvenile justice system across the country and ultimately end the cycle of mass incarceration. Founded by two Black women, our organization is for youth, by youth.

We believe in creating a safe and inclusive space for Black and brown youth to embrace their authentic selves. At Just Us, our vision is to provide young Black people with a transformative and women-centered model of education that uplifts their culture, race, and history. We envision a world where every child experiences love and community, where their basic needs are fulfilled, and where they have access to the best opportunities and resources.

In our perfect world, incarceration is nonexistent, and safety is achieved through restorative practices rather than punishment. We strive for healing, accountability, and a society that cares for one another and the planet. Through our relationship and skill-building work, we empower youth with the tools to build a freer world for all.
