About

Description

The Coalition for Juvenile Justice (CJJ) is a nationwide brand that strives to prevent children and youth from getting involved in the courts. They are committed to upholding the highest standards of care when youth are charged with wrongdoing and enter the justice system. CJJ consists of various types of members, including State Advisory Groups (SAGs), Organizational Members, Governmental Agency Members, Individual Members, and Youth Members.

SAGs are established under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act and are responsible for monitoring and supporting their state's progress in addressing the core requirements of the act. Organizational Members can be nonprofits, private companies, foundations, and governmental organizations that aim to create effective delinquency prevention programs. Governmental Agency Members, such as court systems, probation departments, and educational agencies, play a vital role in addressing the needs of young people in the justice system.

Individual Members are a diverse group that includes juvenile justice practitioners, service providers, youth, parents, public officials, and concerned citizens. CJJ also welcomes youth members who are interested in juvenile justice reform. If you are under the age of 25, you can join as a Youth Member at a discounted rate.
