About
Description
Kcavp, also known as the Kansas City Anti-Violence Project, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing vital services and support to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community in the Kansas City, Missouri metro area. They aim to address the gaps in assistance by offering domestic violence, sexual assault, and hate violence advocacy and education specifically tailored to the LGBTQ population. As the only LGBTQ-specific domestic violence and sexual assault services in Missouri, Kcavp offers a range of free and confidential services to support victims, including incident documentation, support groups like the Passages Group for queer youth, and volunteer services.
Exciting news for Kcavp: they have recently appointed Sarah Cirese-Payton as their new executive director. With over 15 years of experience in the social work field, Sarah brings expertise in grant writing, program development, and team management. She is committed to creating a community where LGBTQ+ individuals can live safe, healthy, and empowered lives.
Kcavp is dedicated to ensuring that violence, trauma, and neglect are confronted effectively, and survivors are supported with respect and dignity
