About

Description

KEMSA, or the Kansas Emergency Medical Services Association, is a non-profit organization that was established in 1996. It was formed by individuals from various EMS groups who wanted to unite and have a single voice for EMS in Kansas. This unified voice is not only heard at the local and state levels, but also at the national level as KEMSA is an affiliate member of the National Association of EMTs.

KEMSA aims to improve EMS in Kansas by providing a range of services and benefits to its members. These include the publication of the Chronicle magazine, e-newsletters, an annual Conference and Expo, and a group buying program, among others. KEMSA is governed by a board of directors elected from its membership and has several standing and special committees that focus on areas such as legislation, membership, operations, and professional development.

The organization also has four societies representing different facets of EMS: Administrators, Billers, Educators, and Peer Support. KEMSA's goals include advocating for EMS providers, promoting public education about pre-hospital care, maintaining high standards of education and training, and elevating the quality of patient care. Communication and fostering discussions about issues relevant to emergency medical care providers in Kansas are also a priority for KEMSA.
