KIBSD (Kodiak Island Borough School District) is a rural public school district located on the second largest island in the United States, in the Gulf of Alaska. With a history dating back to 1948, KIBSD serves the community of Kodiak and seven outlying Alaska Native rural villages. The district consists of four elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and a homeschool/distance education program.
