About

Description

Welcome to Komaza, a brand that is dedicated to reviving the productivity of degraded lands in the world's most deforested areas. Our mission is to revitalize landscapes, capture carbon, and extend Earth's runway to prevent global ecosystem collapse. We achieve this by partnering with a vast network of smallholder farmers, who are the guardians of critical landscapes, to transform underutilized land into thriving microforests.

At Komaza, we offer a unique and integrated business model that connects the dots from seeding to sawmill. In exchange for the farmers' land, farming skills, and security, we provide them with specially designed seedlings, an innovative tech platform for knowledge sharing and management, coordinated commercial log harvesting, and a ready market for wood. Our goal is to generate a significant income of $125M per year for farmers and their families by 2050, while also ensuring a reliable and rapidly-scaling supply of high-quality, sustainable wood and carbon capture for our business.

We aim to meet Africa's $30B wood deficit with 80% cost disruption compared to traditional big plantation forestry. With our vision of planting 1 billion trees across Africa by 2030, Komaza is ready to tackle the $30bn wood deficit that cannot be served by plantations. Our innovative tech platform allows for real-time management of tree assets, enabling our microforestry model to scale rapidly.

By preventing global ecosystem collapse through tree planting and sustainable land management, we are addressing the critical challenge of our generation. Komaza is proud to be the largest forestry company in Kenya, with no ownership of plantations but still making a significant impact. With 16 years in the business, 600 employees, 25,000 farmers, and 8,000,000 trees planted, we have increased total tree cover in Coastal and Central Kenya by 9,500 ha.

Join us at Komaza and be part of a mission that is more than just a job. Contact us at info@komaza. com or visit our headquarters in Kenya to learn more about our work in carbon sequestration, data security, and privacy policies.

Together, we can make a difference and ensure a sustainable future for our planet
