About
Description
The Latino Coalition for a Healthy California (LCHC) is a leading Latinx-led statewide policy and advocacy organization founded in 1992. Their mission is to protect and advance Latinx health equity in California. LCHC is a cross-sector coalition of community leaders, advocates, policy advisors, administrators, and providers, committed to protecting Latinx health and promoting health equity for all.
Their work focuses on community-centered programming, policy and advocacy development, and strategic communications. LCHC's three strategic issue areas are: Access to Health Care for All, Building Healthy Communities, and Health is a Fundamental Human Right. They work towards increasing access to affordable, quality, culturally and linguistically appropriate health care, preventing chronic diseases and promoting health and wellness, and reducing structural and institutional barriers that produce health inequities.
The LCHC team is led by Dr. Seciah Aquino, the Executive Director, who is dedicated to advancing health justice for CA Latinxs through unity. Rosa L.
Flores, the Director of Programs, leads the growth and implementation of LCHC programs, and Mar Velez, the Director of Policy, oversees policy development. LCHC serves as a connector of data and resources for the Latinx community and Latinx-serving organizations, offering research, policy briefs, community data resources, and social media kits. They are committed to fostering a culture of health and working towards eliminating health inequities in the Latinx community
