Established in 1992, Leibniz-HKI, also known as the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology, has been a part of the esteemed Leibniz-Association since 2003. With a team of highly skilled scientists, Leibniz-HKI conducts extensive research on natural products derived from micro-organisms and investigates the infection biology of pathogenic fungi.

As an integral part of the Beutenberg Campus Jena and in collaboration with esteemed institutions such as the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena and the Jena University Hospital, Leibniz-HKI actively participates in numerous joint research projects and academic teaching.
