Lettria, a language and statistical analysis platform, has partnered with ADEME, the Agency for Energy Transition, to improve communication about the circular economy. ADEME plays a crucial role in implementing public policies in the fields of environment, energy, and sustainable development. To ensure their messages are understood, Lettria utilized its expertise in natural language processing (NLP) to evaluate and clarify terms, expressions, and concepts related to the circular economy.

Lettria's research involved analyzing a diverse corpus of texts, including specialized press, general articles, and social media, for over several years. More than 300,000 articles and 36 million words were processed using NLP methods. This comprehensive analysis aimed to measure the complexity of 58 terms and identify areas where clarification was needed.

Lettria also conducted additional studies on social media networks like Twitter to gauge public adoption of circular economy terminology. With the insights gained from their analysis, Lettria provided ADEME with an adoption score for each term and recommended new, clearer terms to improve communication with the general public. ADEME is now incorporating these recommendations into their communication strategy, ensuring a better understanding of the circular economy and its importance.
