About
Description
Lindwood Farm, located near Greensburg, PA, has a rich history dating back to the early 1970s when Logan and Ann Dickerson purchased three contiguous farms. Originally established as a purebred polled Charolais cattle operation under Royal Charolais Co., Lindwood Farm expanded in 1978 to include a breeding and racing program for Standardbred horses. Over the years, the farm grew to accommodate over 1000 purebred Charolais cattle and 50 Standardbred horses on 1500 owned and leased acres.
In the early 1990s, the Dickersons made the decision to discontinue the cattle operation and shift their focus to breeding and raising ostriches. This endeavor led to the formation of Protos Foods and the national marketing of the Ostrimยฎ brand of meat sticks. During this period, Lindwood Farm also began standing stallions, with a particular focus on Standardbreds, solidifying their position as a prominent stallion station in Pennsylvania.
In the mid-1990s, Lindwood Farm embarked on a new venture, developing a planned residential community known as Lindwood, consisting of over 150 single-family homes. This development was paired with the continued operation of Lindwood Farm's breeding program, which expanded to include Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses, and several performance horse breeds. Today, Lindwood Farm continues its legacy as a professionally operated facility for standing stallions and breeding mares.
With a dedication to excellence and a history spanning several decades, Lindwood Farm is an integral part of the equine industry in Pennsylvania
