Marquis Studios is a nonprofit arts and education organization that brings the arts alive for children. Founded in 1977 by David Marquis, it began as a platform for theatrical performances with a focus on gender and economic politics, as well as issues facing children. In 1992, Marquis Studios shifted its mission to solely bringing the arts into schools.

Today, the organization is dedicated to inspiring a passion for learning in New York City public schools. With a staff of 80 experienced Teaching Artists, Marquis Studios provides a wide range of arts experiences to over 140 schools annually, serving a total of 25,000 students across all 5 boroughs. Their goal is to make learning a positive experience for every child, regardless of income or ability.

By fostering partnerships between Teaching Artists and educators, Marquis Studios enables students to reach their full potential. Over the past 46 years, Marquis Studios has made a significant impact, serving over 550,000 students, 30,000 teachers, and 20,000 parents in NYC schools. Of the students served each year, 75% are economically disadvantaged and 34% have a disability.
