MBDC (McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry) is a leading assessor for the Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program, working with global companies to advance the concepts of Cradle to Cradle and Circular Economy. Founded in 1995 by architect William McDonough and chemist Dr. Michael Braungart, MBDC advocates for resourceful and sustainable approaches.

In their book, Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things, McDonough and Braungart presented a design framework based on three principles derived from nature: everything is a resource for something else, use clean and renewable energy, and celebrate diversity. Today, MBDC has transferred an exclusive license for the certification program to the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. The Institute sets and maintains the global standard for Cradle to Cradle certification, offering a multi-stakeholder process and a related Products Program.
