Mississauga First Nation, also known as Mississagi or Mississauga #8, is a member of the Mississauga Nation and a signatory to the Robinson Huron Treaty of 1850. Situated at the mouth of the river that bears its name on the north shore of Lake Huron, Mississauga First Nation is deeply rooted in its Traditional Territory, extending northward into the Huron Watershed. The community has a vision of fostering a socially and culturally healthy environment where individuals can thrive spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically, supported by a generous and unselfish community.


The Mississauga First Nation provides a range of services and resources to its members. These include healthcare services such as the In Motion Fitness Centre and Covid-19 resources, addiction and mental health resources, as well as social services like the Food Security Program, Red Pine Lodge, and Apo-way-a-in Wigamin (Women's Shelter). The community also offers support for families through an after-school program, day camp program, and youth program.


Additionally, Mississauga First Nation values governance and adheres to laws and policies to ensure the well-being and success of its members. They have Chief and Council in place and maintain affiliations and relations with various organizations for partnerships and collaborations.
