About
Description
Mobile Loaves & Fishes is a social outreach ministry in central Texas, dedicated to empowering communities in their service to the homeless since 1998. With a mission to provide support and assistance to our homeless brothers and sisters, Mobile Loaves & Fishes offers a range of products and services. One of their initiatives, the Truck Ministry, delivers more than just a sandwich.
Their food truck volunteers hit the streets 7 nights a week, 365 days a year, providing food, clothing, hygiene products, and other life-sustaining items to the homeless. With over 19,000 volunteers and 6 million meals served, Mobile Loaves & Fishes is the largest prepared feeding program for the homeless and working poor in Austin, Texas. Community First! Village is another significant project by Mobile Loaves & Fishes.
This 51-acre master planned community offers affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for the disabled and chronically homeless in Central Texas. It has become the largest community-based model in the country, lifting homeless individuals off the streets and providing them with a place to call home. Additionally, Mobile Loaves & Fishes runs Community Works, which provides micro-enterprise opportunities for individuals coming out of chronic homelessness, allowing them to earn a dignified income using their talents.
Through their various programs, Mobile Loaves & Fishes is not only addressing the immediate needs of the homeless but also working towards long-term solutions to end homelessness and build inclusive communities
