It all started at a farmer's market in Brookfield, IL, where Marcus and Jenni discovered their love for fresh roasted, specialty coffee.

Inspired by their passion, Marcus delved into the world of coffee roasting, honing his skills and experimenting with different flavors and roasting techniques. Soon, their family and friends were craving his delicious coffee, prompting them to scale up their production. Their dedication to traceability and quality has allowed Modest Coffee to expand its reach to over 100 retail outlets while remaining true to their vision.

Marcus was even awarded a Good Food Award in 2021 for his creative roasting skills.
