Monroe Volunteer Fire Department No. 1 Inc has been dedicated to providing fire and rescue services to the town of Monroe, Connecticut since 1923! As a 100% volunteer organization, we are NEIGHBORS helping NEIGHBORS, with members from diverse backgrounds coming together to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. Our volunteers include college students, technicians, accountants, and more, all united in their commitment to serving others.

In addition to firefighting services, we offer opportunities for non-firefighting roles such as the Ladies Auxiliary and Junior Firefighter programs. The Ladies Auxiliary plays a vital role in fundraising and supporting the department, while the Juniors program introduces young individuals to the fire service, instilling values of teamwork, dedication, and community service.
