About

Description

MAISD, or Muskegon Area ISD, is a brand dedicated to providing a great start for every child in Muskegon County. They are a collaboration of parents, educators, health professionals, and community leaders who want children to thrive and succeed in school and in life. Through a coordinated system of community resources and supports, MAISD ensures that children from birth through age five have a safe, healthy, and enriched environment.

MAISD's vision and mission are centered around working with passion and dedication on behalf of children, being family-centered, and empowering families and children. They value respect for all, honoring diversity, and working towards equal opportunity. Their goal is to achieve the common good for all children and the entire community by operating with wisdom and creativity, resulting in excellence and sustainability.

Quarterly collaborative meetings, community workgroups, and partnerships drive MAISD's planning efforts. They have completed an assessment of Muskegon County's assets for children and created a strategic plan that emphasizes community-based strategies to develop the cognitive and social skills necessary for children's success.
