The National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH) is a national network of individuals who have experienced or are currently experiencing homelessness, as well as activists, advocates, service providers, and others who are dedicated to the mission of ending and preventing homelessness. NCH works to ensure that the immediate needs of those experiencing homelessness are met, while also promoting and protecting their civil rights. NCH envisions a world where everyone has access to safe, decent, affordable, and accessible housing.

They believe in the dignity of all people and recognize that housing, healthy food, quality healthcare, education, and livable incomes are basic human rights. NCH condemns discrimination and criminalization against individuals struggling to meet their basic needs, and holds public policymakers and elected officials accountable for addressing the systemic and structural causes of homelessness. They acknowledge that structural racism and discrimination are root causes of homelessness, and emphasize the importance of collaboration with diverse stakeholders in their work.
