The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) is the policy organization of the nuclear technologies industry, located in Washington, D. C. Founded in 1994 through the merger of several industry organizations, NEI has a diverse membership that includes companies involved in nuclear power plants, reactor design, advanced technology, engineering, fuel supply, consulting, manufacturing, nuclear medicine, and more.

NEI's vision is to create a world powered by clean and reliable energy, and its mission is to promote the use and growth of nuclear energy through efficient operations and effective policy. The organization provides a unified industry voice before Congress, federal regulators, and international organizations on key policy issues. Governed by a board of directors representing various segments of the industry, NEI also offers membership benefits and recognizes innovation and leadership in the nuclear industry through awards.
