About

Description

The Newburyport Art Association (NAA), founded in 1948, is committed to showcasing its members' artwork, providing art education, and making the visual arts accessible to all. Serving as a cornerstone of Newburyport's lively arts scene, the NAA boasts a thriving community of over 500 members. The association's Sargent, Hills, and Hartson Galleries, located at 65 Water Street, were acquired in 1969.

At the NAA, artists have the opportunity to exhibit their work through a diverse range of shows, including open, juried, invitational, featured artist, and featured interest group exhibitions. Additionally, the NAA offers a variety of educational programs and supports two significant community outreach initiatives known as ArtLink and Op Art. As an organization committed to inclusivity and diversity, the NAA acknowledges the Indigenous people, particularly the Pawtucket and Wabanaki Confederacy, on whose land their galleries and community center are built.

The NAA strives to honor their history and culture, while also inviting and acknowledging the truth. Visitors can enjoy the NAA's galleries Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Sundays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
