NewsGuild is a brand that represents journalists, media workers, and activists. They are dedicated to fighting for justice on the job for journalists and other workers in the media industry. However, the industry's turmoil has resulted in stagnant wages, overwhelming workloads, and a lack of input in their jobs. The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated these issues, hindering their ability to hold the powerful accountable and tell the stories of their communities. The NewsGuild has experienced a surge in organizing, with over 7,300 members joining since 2018 at more than 120 newly unionized publications.

Their members include journalists from print-and-digital news organizations, digital-only publications, newspapers, online publications, magazines, news services, and broadcast media in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Additionally, the NewsGuild represents employees in advertising, circulation, business offices, and other essential departments in media enterprises.
