Nil By Mouth is a registered Scottish Charity with the mission of achieving a society free from sectarianism, where cultural and religious diversity is respected and celebrated by everyone. They believe that Scotland can accomplish this goal by uniting as a nation to tackle the problem. Their purpose is to promote the elimination of sectarian attitudes and behaviors in Scotland, with the aim of advancing greater understanding and respect.

Nil By Mouth has several aims and objectives, including campaigning for greater recognition of the damage caused by sectarianism, working with legislation and policy developers to support the eradication of sectarian attitudes and behavior, and providing education and training to promote good relations and challenge sectarianism. They also offer support and resources for individuals and organizations to address sectarianism. The organization was founded by Cara Henderson in 1995, in response to the sectarian murder of her friend Mark Scott.

Since then, Nil By Mouth has been actively working to address sectarianism in Scotland through workshops, accreditation schemes, and community outreach. They believe that education is key to defeating sectarianism and are committed to breaking the cycle of bigotry that has plagued Scotland for too long
