About

Description

The CADASIL Eradication Project is dedicated to transforming healthcare through precision medicine, genomics, and data science. They go beyond treating symptoms and focus on understanding and addressing the root causes of disease at the genetic level. With their support, the Starita lab is currently investigating Notch3, the gene associated with CADASIL.

Using advanced technology and high-throughput approaches, the team is creating a detailed map of how gene variants impact Notch3. This research aims to better understand how these variants lead to mild or severe forms of the disease. The CADASIL Eradication Project collaborates with the Brotman Baty Institute for Precision Medicine (BBI) in Seattle.

BBI brings together deep health sciences expertise, technology innovation, and a philanthropic spirit to push medical genomics frontiers. Dr. Lea Starita and the team at the BBI Advanced Technology lab have developed techniques to understand genetic variation down to the single nucleotide level.

They have already applied their methods to gain insights into cancer risk and drug metabolism. The CADASIL Eradication Project is an invaluable resource for those interested in precision medicine and CADASIL research
