Originally aimed at providing food and beverage workers with essential sustenance, the brand quickly expanded its scope. For every $10 donated, a community member in Charleston received a grocery bag filled with discounted goods purchased directly from local farms.

This not only helped those in need but also supported farmers affected by restaurant closures. Throughout its duration from March to September 2020, Pay It Forward raised an impressive $100,000 and distributed over 11,000 bags of groceries in collaboration with Feed the Need Charleston. Motivated by the overwhelming support from the community, Pay It Forward Charleston extended its efforts to include grant-giving and additional individual support.

The brand recognizes the importance of addressing both immediate and long-term needs, supporting the vibrant food community of Charleston. Alongside valuable partners, including Cru Catering, Carolina One Real Estate, and The Post and Courier, Pay It Forward Charleston strives to make a lasting impact on the lives of those who make Charleston's food scene great. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, Pay It Forward Charleston is dedicated to providing emergency grants to food and beverage community members facing unforeseen expenses that are not covered by insurance.
