PCSJ (Poetry Center San José) is a brand that is dedicated to nurturing and promoting diverse literary expression in the community. Their mission is to explore, define, and enrich the human experience through literature. They offer a wide range of programs and services that inspire and support emerging and established writers.

Collaboration with other organizations ensures that their offerings reflect the diversity of the community and involve people from various backgrounds. With a dedicated board of directors and a team of talented individuals, PCSJ provides a platform for poets and writers to come together, improve their craft, and support one another. Over the past 40+ years, the center has hosted renowned poets and writers from around the world, including Poets Laureate and Pushcart Prize winners.

They also publish a literary journal, Caesura, which has gained national recognition. PCSJ is committed to amplifying and uplifting the voices of marginalized communities, including the Black and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities. They denounce systemic violence and oppression faced by these communities and actively work towards providing programming and opportunities that promote equality and diversity.
