About
Description
The Personal Genome Project is a global network of projects dedicated to creating public genome, health, and trait data. Founded in 2005, their vision is to promote scientific progress by inviting willing participants to publicly share their personal data. The network consists of several international projects, including the Harvard PGP in the United States, PGP Canada, PGP UK, Genom Austria, and PGP China.
The Harvard PGP, established in 2005, is the pilot site and operates in George Church's laboratory at Harvard Medical School. PGP Canada, founded in 2012, is operated by the McLaughlin Centre at the University of Toronto. PGP UK, established in 2013, is led by Stephen Beck at University College London.
Genom Austria, founded in 2014, is based at the CeMM Research Center for Molecular Medicine. The recently announced PGP China, launched in 2017, aims to contribute to the global network. Join the Personal Genome Project and be part of revolutionary research for the greater good
